John R. Steele & Associates is an exclusively equine veterinary practice founded by the legendary Dr. John R. Steele, member of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame. We have been providing high level veterinary care for more than 50 years. The success of our company is built upon a strong foundation of three pillars: client service, highest quality veterinary care, and work ethic.

We are actively seeking veterinary technicians and assistants to work with Dr. Timothy Ober in Gordonsville, VA through the summer of 2022 and to accompany staff in Wellington, Florida for the Winter Equestrian Festival from late November to mid April 2023. Housing is provided during those months. Technicians and assistants are responsible for ensuring appointments run efficiently, maintaining equipment, and handling horses during examinations. Staff also performs therapeutic treatments, including FES, Laser, and Shockwave.

Horse experience is a requirement, however, veterinary experience is not required. Training available for candidates that can communicate effectively, work in a team environment, and have a willingness to learn.

Qualifications and desired skills: • Equine industry experience, applicants should be confident handling athletic horses. • Ability to follow directions and take initiative. • Attention to detail. • Task and time management skills. • Valid Driver’s license with good driving record. • Client confidentiality.
