We are looking for a female horse trainer that is a US citizen and seeking a permanent long term position. Our training philosophy emphasizes a balanced partnership where both horse and rider feel confident, understood, and in control. We believe the best results come from communication, not domination - creating horses that are willing and responsive, and riders who feel empowered and connected. We are a for profit organization that works with young adults, both with and without learning difficulties to help them discover the personal and professional benefits of equine- related employment.
The trainer should have a good background in handling young stock, starting/breaking many colts, and the ability to teach people and horses in a mentoring not dominating fashion. The position includes housing with bathroom, shower, living area, dining area, bedroom, wifi, utilities, and more
Our location offers the best of both worlds - the front of the property is within walking distance of major conveniences like Walmart, Chili's, Olive Garden, and Home Depot, while the back of the property opens up to sweeping views of thousands of acres of open land. All horses on site have been born here as have their mothers and grandmothers and have sires that have produced over one million dollars in reining and cutting. We have no boarders nor outside training horses.
Other amenities include a covered indoor arena, covered small round pen, individual and group turn out pens, 250 ft outdoor cutting pen, an eager and willing to learn young staff that has been living on site for several years, is responsible for cleaning stalls, turning out, and helping to maintain the fencing, etc.
Accommodation
Private bedroom suite in all female three bedroom apartment which includes shared bathroom, shower, dining area, living area and kitchen.
Job Benefits
Base pay, housing, utilities, an eager to learn young staff that has been here for several years, an opportunity to work with young adults with learning difficulties who come to the site weekly to learn the benefits of employment in the equine industry, and an aggressive incentive program which can greatly increase the base pay.
