Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Duchess Sanctuary in Oakland, Oregon. In this position you will provide maintenance to tools, vehicles, tractors, equipment, facilities, pastures, roads, and buildings at Duchess Sanctuary. You will also assist in construction and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

• Performs routine maintenance and repairs for tools, vehicles, tractors, and equipment at Duchess Sanctuary;
• Assists with the upkeep, and repair of enclosures, habitats, roads, and buildings;
• Assists with maintenance of pastures, trees, and water systems;
• Assists with the execution of construction and renovation projects;
• Maintains inventory of plumbing, electrical, and vehicle maintenance supplies;
• Keeps logs to document in-progress and completed maintenance;
• Performs burial of animals;
• Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required;
• One (1) year of experience in facilities maintenance preferred;
• Ability to operate heavy equipment, including truck and trailer, backhoe, sprayers, and tractors with or without implements;
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record is required, with the ability to demonstrate and maintain a safe driving record while employed;
• Proficiency of Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook);
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes;
• Strong interpersonal skills are necessary;
• Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred.

The general hourly range for this full time (40 hours per week) position is $18.50 – 23.50, plus full benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more! Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.
