ISO an experienced, freelance, classical dressage trainer/english riding instructor! This is an opportunity to establish your name in the beautiful Berkshires/Hudson valley! We are a full service facility focused on classical dressage and holistic horse care, with an emphasis on natural horsemanship. BridleWood is located on 60 idyllic acres in Hillsdale, NY, bordering MA and CT. We have a full size dust-free indoor arena, a full size grass arena (with a view!), a 60’ round pen, heated bathroom and tack room, plus access to hills and woodland trails. We seek a classical trainer who is gifted in teaching beginner through advanced. Our horses are all maintained barefoot, on a forage based whole-food diet. They live in compatible groups on track systems with shelters. They have the freedom to move and interact, find food and water and seek shelter as they wish, and as such, they are relaxed, healthier and happier! In case of extreme weather they all have a stall in the main barn. Your approach to riding and training must be in partnership with each horse without using short-cut mechanics (no clicker training, martingales or harsh bits, etc). Equine bio-mechanics along with the practical knowledge of in-hand work is a must. Someone skilled in methods that echo the teaching of Reiner Klimke, Uta Gräf, Bettina Drummond, Manolo Mendez, David de Wispelaere, Ray Hunt and of course others...someone who approaches their work with confidence, imbued with compassion, creativity and lightness, skilled in the biomechanics of both horse and rider!
