Active dressage (with a dabble in eventing) barn in NY's Hudson Valley seeks a motivated, detail-oriented individual to aid in the care and management of 16 equine residents on a part-time basis. Horses include active dressage and eventing competitors, outside-dwelling retirees, and Poitou donkeys.

This position does include help with general horse (and donkey) care to include feeding, bring-in/ turnout, blanketing, coordinating vet & farrier appointments and being present for those, medicating when applicable, grooming + tacking up, wrapping when applicable, etc... Head trainer and manager is a USDF Silver Medalist and USPC graduate who takes horse happiness very seriously.

In addition to daily training and lessons we host schooling shows and clinics which may require additional time commitments (for which there is appropriate compensation of course).

Ability to operate an automatic tractor for round bale placement in the winter and a zero turn mower (for paddocks only, we have a landscaping crew for the rest of the property) in the summer is a plus.

We are looking for someone who plays well with others and has a horses-first approach that is willing to work with a variety of different (but well behaved!) equine personalities. Pay dependent upon experience, we are willing to be flexible with hours/ days per week. Please note that there is no housing available so reliable transportation is a must.

Must be willing to have a little flexibility in schedule in case of emergencies.
