We are in need of a petite, lightweight trainer to help out on our small, private gypsy farm. We produce 2 foals a year. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, hard working, have good communication skills, and looking to produce solid, well adjusted horses. Gypsy horses are easy to work with and a great breed for a young trainer. Husband is having some health issues. Wife is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist and is currently working with VSE's and smaller ponies in combined driving but having to spend more time caring for husband. This is a great position for a younger trainer looking to gain more experience and have the opportunity to ask for some guidance and help if needed. We need someone to work with the foals to starting and riding young horses. The position also requires the willingness to help out with feeding and barn chores and some other limited farm projects. Horses live outside as natural as possible with only our stallion coming inside during the day for a break from his mares. Currently, we have 15 horses on the property. Ability to have an outside horses or two in training. We are looking for someone with a quiet gentle approach to training. A dressage, Hunter/jumper, or western dressage background is a plus. Feel free to just give me a call to discuss the position and opportunities at our farm.
