Connecticut Dressage Academy is seeking an experienced Barn Manager to oversee daily horse care and facility operations. This hands-on role requires excellent horse care knowledge, strong leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities: Daily Horse Care: Feed grain and hay, manage turnout and rotations, check each horse for injuries or health concerns, clean water buckets and troughs, and monitor dietary needs.

Stall & Facility Maintenance: Thoroughly clean stalls (removing manure/wet spots, adding bedding), scrub water/feed buckets, remove cobwebs, and replenish hay. Sweep/blow aisles, clean tack rooms, and maintain wash stalls.

Turnout & Supervision: Oversee morning and evening turnout, ensure horses are properly blanketed, and monitor behavior. Check for lost shoes or injuries before bringing horses in.

Team Leadership: Train and supervise barn staff, manage chore assignments, and ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard. You should be comfortable leading a team, being able to take initiative (recognize and anticipate when specific tasks need to be done to maintain flow of facility), direct working students and delegate tasks, oversee safety, and be communicative with owner of facility.

Schedule: Hours are Monday - Friday (yes! no weekends! Really!) option for 7:30am-12:00pm, 1:00pm - 4:30pm OR 7:30am-12:00pm, 3:30pm-6:30pm

Qualifications: Prior experience in barn management, preferably in dressage or performance horse care. Strong horse care knowledge, attention to detail, and reliability. Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physical labor. Leadership skills and ability to work well with staff and boarders.
