Active dressage barn in NY seeks a motivated, detail-oriented individual to aid in the care and management of 17 equine residents 4-5 days/week including one weekend day. Horses include active competitors, retirees, and Poitou donkeys.
This position does include help with general horse (and donkey) care to include feeding, bring-in/ turnout, blanketing, coordinating vet & farrier appointments and being present for those, medicating when applicable, grooming + tacking up, wrapping when applicable, etc...
In addition to daily training and lessons we also host schooling shows and clinics, so assistance with day-of facilitation of those events is appreciated.
Opportunity to travel to shows for the right candidate! We are looking for someone who has a horses-first approach and is willing to work with lots of different equine personalities. Pay dependent on experience, willing to be flexible with hours + days per week. Please note there is NO HOUSING AVAILABLE for this position. Reliable transportation is a must.
