Finca La Donaira has an opening for a full-time horse trainer experienced with HORSEMANSHIP and young horses, with at least 2 years of experience. For this position we required intermediate level of RIDING We need someone to be an integral part of the team with good communication skills, able to work reliably and responsibly. Our horsemanship team takes care and train over 40 young horses. Nearly all the horses at our farm are living a natural life and being in our wild countryside with minimum human contact.

We are looking for a VERY RELIABLE PERSON to work as soon as possible. Alternating weekends are required. Good with kids and adults of all ages

The job includes training all the young horses and bringing them up to the main stable, to keep the horses comfortable around people and well handled. Some of the tasks:

⁃ handling foals (first touch, halter and leading) ⁃ Handling young horses and educate them ⁃ Handling stallions ⁃ Saddling 2/3 yo and riding them in ⁃ Liberty training with all horses ⁃ Lunging skills for building musculature of young horses ⁃ Training young horses in the country side/ trainings track ⁃ Presenting horses for sale ⁃ Photo-shooting with horses for sale ⁃ Classes, hacks and presentations for hotel clients

This professional position includes typical farm work, barn chores like horse care, grooming and feeding when necessary. You must be comfortable handling different ages of horses from young horses.
