La Donaira is classical dressage centre, breeding and training farm, also an eco-resort opens for guest in a rural Andalusian area, our horse breed the Lusitanos is at the heart of our work. Currently, we have more than 90 horses, bred and trained on site according to the principles of natural horsemanship. Candidates absolutely must love horses, be friendly, honest, responsible, reliable, hardworking, independent, self-motivated, polite, organized, neat and clean. Must be confident around horses of different ages.
We are looking for someone who can stay 3 months minimum, to help us with variety of tasks on the different areas of stable. Alternating weekends are required. Duties include but are not limited to: help with cleaning paddocks, feeding, move horses between fields/stables, grooming, prepare horses for riders and clean up after their rides are finished, general farm maintenance and upkeep of farm/barn order and cleanliness.
We have a team that is at the farm every day days, you will help to assist on their daily chores but cannot always be side to side, so eagerness to learn is a key, we require someone we can trust, in particular ensure the safety, health and happiness of our wonderful horses. Attention to detail is important to us as is motivation to work. This is not a riding position initially. However, for the experienced rider there may be opportunities to exercise and trail ride depending on the level of your riding ability.

Requirements
A minimum stay of three months, being somewhat flexible with persons that have specific experiences to share with us. Experience working with horses Basic Spanish is highly required, as big part of the team is Spanish. So, knowledge of it is a plus! A great passion for learning as well as a lot of energy in participating in a very special project. Our horses get train from birth with Natural Horsemanship principals, we also look for someone knowledgeable to help to handle our young stock, lunging, riding out, schooling, horse management, flatwork and warming up and down.
Must be able to submit recent video of riding skills/flatwork along with CV or resume and complete an application for internship.

Our housing is basic and simple: Three shared showers and two toilets, two dormitories that sleep two and four volunteers respectively. (1 Private room depending on availability) Comfortable housing, kitchen and living room area are shared as well, lot of outdoors space terraces gardens to enjoy good weather days. The food we offer is healthy and follows a vegetarian diet mainly and provided from our own gardens. We enjoy and share permaculture principles, and we try to reduce to the maximum our use of un-ethical products. We provide Wi-Fi connection We provide bicycles as transport around the property and to village. the near by village is 4km away from the farm home, there are restaurants, few bars and pubs, supermarket, post office, bank and ATM, pharmacy, tobacco shop, medical center, public pool, etc. Dryer and washer at your disposal. In our community all residents take part in our cleaning rotation and help to keep all shared areas clean and tidy on daily basis.
