Equine Work Experience

I have a lifetime of experience, starting with my first riding lesson at age 4. I showed successfully in 4H and on the Appaloosa circuit in hunt seat and western. Most recently, I served as the Sole Charge manager for Hilltop Farm, a private 6-horse facility, where I was responsible for all daily operations and the total well-being of the horses. I have also worked as a groom at a racehorse training barn caring for young Thoroughbreds. My experience includes stall cleaning, feeding, grooming, and tacking, as well as applying medications, leg wraps, and specialized rehabilitative care. I spent years assisting trainers with farm duties and have a deep understanding of what it takes to keep a barn safe, happy, and healthy.

Specialities

I have worked with foals, stallions, show horses, and racehorses. My goal is always to keep the horses safe, happy, and healthy. I have earned my Equine Technician Certificate and am only three classes away from my Equine Studies degree at the College of Central Florida. My 18-year-old son works with me as an extra set of hands and eyes. Together, we are a reliable team for any private farm.

Type of Ride Work

I have shown successfully in Western and Hunt Seat, with a focus on equitation. I also have experience in basic jumping and flatwork. My trainer often used me as a rider so she could observe training from the ground, so I take direction very well. I have not had the opportunity to ride in years and would need time to get my legs back, but I am very adaptable.

Competition Details

Competed successfully in open shows, 4H, and on the Appaloosa circuit. I was a High Point Equitation Champion in the CFAHC for several years and qualified for the World Championship show.
