Duties of Current Occupation

Currently a yard supervisor Mucking out 10+ horses to a high level in a timely manner communicating with clients and horses owners Coaching apprentices Delegating tasks Managing and monitoring horses health Supporting and assisting vet/farrier

Equine Work Experience

I have been around horses for nearly 10 years. I have worked/ volunteered at horses yard for the past 7 years. My first yard I volunteered in return for a ride for about 3/4 years until i finished school where I then went on to do an apprenticeship at a rehab yard where I first started to really expand my knowledge. This is where I got my first real work place experience and learned to muck out to a high standard and timely manner. This job also really improved my theory knowledge as I couldn't ride here so spent a lot of time doing theory bits and learning to long rein, I still do a lot of long reining and say this is one of my best skills. After leaving this job I started at my current job where I have had a real role change. Here i finished my level 2 with a pass and went onto do my level 3 Equine Senior Groom with a distinction. At this yard I have gained so much knowledge in all aspects of horses and especially my riding and am very excited to continue my learning journey.

Specialities

Have had my first experience with a foal this past year, currently supervise a team and delegate tasks. I can long rein and have done a lot of this while working at my current job as well as my last job.

Type of Ride Work

I haven't yet hunted although this is something I would love to do. I have done a lot of hacking including some "difficult" horses and this is what I find the easiest. I have ridden a few showjumpers however haven't done much bigger than 1m/1.10m however this is something i would also really love to do more of. I have ridden "difficult ponies" that need schooling more than exceptional quality horses however I would really like to start pushing myself to be more effective with my riding.

Competition Details

I currently had only done a handful of unaffiliated competitions in showjumping on my previous horse but due to not working on a competition yard and it not being in my job role I have minimum experience in this area.
