Part time or freelance sole charge groom
This role would be ideal for someone who likes a peaceful environment, looking after a small number of competition horses and much-loved retirees to a very high standard
This job is approximately 21 hours a week and involves taking sole charge of the yard, usually on a Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The ability to flex up to 7 days a week for occasional holiday cover plus house and dog sitting is required
This would be a fabulous job for an experienced groom wanting a quieter life, or someone who wants to work around another job, or producing their own horse(s).
A very high standard of individual care for the horses is crucial, so we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and has great attention to detail. This is a non-riding role and involves the usual yard duties in a well-defined routine, plus keeping the yard spic and span. The ability to lunge and long rein would be a bonus, as is the ability to drive to a horsebox.
This job is all about quality not quantity. The hours are generous for the work
You will be working in sole-charge, so experience and common sense are vital, although further training is available if you have the right attributes and a desire to learn. You will need to be self-motivated, conscientious and 110% reliable, honest and trustworthy.
In return you can expect a satisfying job with great working conditions, and lovely horses. You will be highly valued and we will do what we can to help you achieve your goals.
- Premium rate of pay, commensurate with your experience.
- Possibility to bring own horse(s)
- Self-contained, delightful accommodation possible
To apply please send a CV or an email with details about yourself and your experience.
We look forward to hearing from you!
