We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Trek Leader with a BHS stage 2 or the equivalent to join our small, friendly farm community at Glen Shiel Pony Trekking Centre for the 2026 season. If you are experienced working with ponies, and enjoy meeting people, and you want to spend the summer in one of the most scenic areas of the Scottish Highlands, this could be the perfect job for you!
About the Role • You will be part of our team of the trekking centre including manging the ponies and their working life. • Lead small treks (up to 6 riders) through the stunning landscapes of Glen Shiel. • Help bring on a few of our younger Highland ponies, so experience with young or green ponies is very welcome. • Ensure a friendly, safe, and enjoyable experience for all customers. • Take bookings via phone, Facebook and email – to provide basic admin and customer service such as chatting with our visitors and sharing your love of the local wildlife and scenery of course the ponies
What We’re Looking For • Experience in pony trekking and customer care. • Friendly, capable and confident personality. • Ability to work independently and take responsibly. • Trekking Qualifications (required) First Aid Certificate (required) • Driving licence is helpful, but not essential – public transport is available nearby.
Additional Info • The season runs from May to September (dates to be confirmed).. • After the summer season there may be the opportunity to develop a ridding school and work on other farm business. • Accommodation is provided and a monthly salary will be provided .

Job Description
To start asap Wanted experienced, dedicated, friendly and hard working individual for pony trekking who would be responsible for 6 ponies and taking members of the public on treks, giving clear instructions and lessons to beginners in our schooling yard and working with our younger ponies to bring them on and to also carry out general maintenance duties of yard
The successful applicant will be in sole charge of trekking and working with beginners, including children.
