We are looking for an experienced Groom to to join our small friendly team as soon as possible at Yirrkala Stud. We need a positive, hardworking person who has experience with looking after Warmbloods (larger horses) , preferably stallions and young horses. Ideally, you will also have had experience grooming at competitions. We are looking for some one to stay a minimum of 3 months but would prefer someone permanantly. We are a boutique Warmblood Showjumping Stud situated on the Central Coast NSW, 1 1/2 hours north of Sydney and 1/2 hour from the nearest town and beach. The opportunity to ride maybe possible, however for you to do this, you must be very competent on the flat. And you must have a resonable level of English. Duties will include:

  • Daily care of horses and their environments:
  • feeding horses
  • daily rugging/unrugging
  • daily paddock cleaning
  • water trough cleaning
  • daily shelter cleaning
  • arena raking
  • working with young horses and stallions
  • grooming for rider(s)
  • bandaging and plaiting horses
  • assisting at competitions plus additional farm tasks as required. The successful applicant will be able to work by themselves as well as be happy to be part of a small team. Applicant must have a good level of English. Please do not apply if you do not have suitable experience and 2nd year visa cannot be provided 5 days per week with some weekends at competitions. We try and keep working hours reasonable and we offer a weekly pay rate, not hourly. Shared accomodation available onsite . Drivers licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle is a necessity and own transport preferable. Looking for someone to start as soon as possible. You must already be in Australia to apply please.

Looking for friendly, enthusiastic and energetic person who enjoys being outdoors. We need someone who can demonstrate that they can work independently without supervision, is mature, self motivated and organised . Must have current work visa if not Australian.
